This interface provides a report on an emails delivery route, this can be helpful if you are trying to locate problems with a certain email delivery.
To use the Track Delivery feature first you must access the control panel, if you are unsure on how to do this then we have a guide to help you here.
Once in the control panel scroll down to the Email heading and select Track Delivery.
You have the option of searching for a specific recipient or searching through all of your sent emails, and also have the choice of searching through all of the emails or only the emails that have failed to deliver by clicking Show All or Show Blocked & Failed.
To filter the records by result, select any of the following checkboxes:
- Show Successes
- Show Deferred
- Show Failures
- Show In-Progress
Select the maximum number of results to display from the Max Results/Type menu.
A table below will show all of the sent emails depending on your filters. What the table shows depends on your preferences – you can have it display any of the following columns.
To display the column check the box, to hide the column simply uncheck the box. The only one that is compulsory is the Event column as this is the main feature – it displays an icon to indicate a messages delivery status. Here are all the possible icons and what they mean below.
The system successfully delivered the message.
The message encountered a delivery error.
The message's status is unknown, or delivery is in progress.
The system deferred the message.
The system archived the message.
The system rejected and discarded the message at SMTP time. This typically occurs because the sender's server does not use a secure configuration or appears on a Real-time Blackhole List (RBL).
The mail server accepted the message but did not deliver the message to the recipient's inbox. This typically occurs because spam software filtered the message. |
The data is only kept for 10 days so any emails that failed to deliver over 10 days ago will not show up in this table.
